Under the regulations published by government, the tourists visiting Dubai are required to complete 14 days in quarantine. Dubai Tourism released the guidelines indicating the clarity on rules regarding the arrival of tourists and residents returning back to the Emirates.
The guidelines suggest that both the residents and tourist would be given an option to quarantine either in a hotel or home.
At the time of booking their stay in the country, the travelers would be informed about these requirements and would be provided an option to book the hotel if they choose to, which are in the list of quarantine options.
On arrival in Dubai, all the travelers would be tested for Covid-19 and asked for the preferred quarantine place.
The people who choose a private residence for quarantine have to meet certain safety requirements, in the absence of which they would have to opt for hotel.
The hotel quarantine visitors would be blocked an “extra disinfection charge” at the check-in. This would be in case room requires extra disinfection if the traveler becomes positive.
If the hotels are booked in advance, the meals would be provided thrice a day. In case of later booking the traveler would be required to eat through takeaways for which they have to pay online.
Visitors would be required to clean their own rooms.
All the visitors have to wear face masks and gloves in public areas while following 2m social distancing.
The travelers, through a mobile app would be provided with video consultation with doctors.
The visitors are required to checkout after 14 days from hotel.
For people opting for home quarantine, which can be a “private property too, if not personal residence”, a personal room with a personal bathroom access is required. Members of the household must not be vulnerable of contracting the infection. A working contact number is a must along with access to a first aid kit in the house.
The “home quarantined” visitors must not be in contact with other members of house and must be separately living. While leaving the room, a surgical mask is a must.
Any traveler entering UAE is required to download the Covid-19 DXB app and have to sign an undertaking stating that they would comply with all the regulations. All the visitors would be tested for Covid-19 at the time of arrival.
Sheikh Hamdan shared his first class Emirates airlines ticket this month while travelling to London Heathrow, stating “coming soon”.
He stated that the economic state of Dubai is “taking off again” which sends an optimistic message that it has “weathered the storm”, emerging from Covid-19 pandemic.
The emirate had imposed one of the strictest regulations in UAE early on in the pandemic crisis to take the Covid spread head on and curb it in the initial phase itself. The result is that now the country is slowly returning to normal.
Dubai is witnessing reopening of malls, businesses and various entertainment locations with 100% capacity, but social distancing and other required protocols in place for confining the infection spread.
