COVID-19: ADP records 1,252 violations of resolution forbidding parties, gatherings in ranches

As the UAE authorities continue to take initiatives to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country, the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) recently reported that it recorded around 1,252 violations of the resolution prohibiting parties and large gatherings in the ranches across the Emirate.

According to the ADP, the violations were recorded in accordance with the Resolution No. 38 for 2020 related to the implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. 17 for 2020, introduced by the authorities as part of the COVID-19 precautionary measures for the health and safety of the public amid the pandemic. It covers essential precautionary measures, requirements, and violations mandated by the concerned authorities to limit the transmission of the virus. Under the Resolution, violators who organise gatherings against the precautionary measures will be slapped with a fine of AED10,000, while participating members will be fined AED5,000.

Amid these developments, the ADP has called upon the public to comply with the precautionary measures to counter the spread of Coronavirus and contribute to the efforts of the authorities in ensuring the health and safety of the people. The Abu Dhabi Police also stressed the need for community cooperation to fight the virus and protect the families from any form of infections while encouraging the public to spread awareness about COVID-19 and its preventive measures among the youth and children.

In addition, the ADP urged the public to report any form of violations of the COVID-19 precautionary measures to the official authorities through its free hotline "Zaman Service," through SMS (2828) or by email ([email protected]), to ensure that the health and safety of the community is maintained.
