UAE sends medical aid to Turkmenistan in fight against COVID-19

On Friday, the United Arab Emirates sent medical aid to Turkmenistan as part of its global commitment to help nations strengthen their health sector in their fight against Covid-19. The aid from the Gulf country included 60 tonnes of medical supplies, including testing kits, out of 90 tonnes allocated to it. The aid would assist approximately 90,000 medical professionals of Turkmenistan as they struggle to fight against covid-19

With respect to the medical aid, Abdulaziz Al Hashimi, Charge d'affaires of the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan, said: "The UAE and Turkmenistan enjoy distinguished bilateral relations made notable by the support of both friendly countries’ leadership for efforts to consistently strengthen and develop the relationship on all fronts in order to achieve shared interests."

"The UAE hopes that the medical aid sent today will contribute towards increasing capacity among Turkmenistan’s medical professionals and offer additional protection as they fight COVID-19," Al Hashimi added.

Admits the ongoing global health crisis, UAE has emerged as a global leader setting a mark for other as so far it has sent over 1,248 tonnes of medical supplies to 92 countries in order to support more than one million medical professionals in their fight against the pandemic onslaught.
