Coronavirus: Abu Dhabi issues new safety guidelines for camping and outdoor trips

Considering the Coronavirus pandemic, the Abu Dhabi health authorities have announced new health guidelines for camping and outdoor trips.

Besides the regularCoronavirus measures, such as wearing facial masks and keeping social distance, the officials have requested citizens to stay away from touching farm animals and avoid eating uncooked meat. Try not to touch surfaces contacted by ranch/wild animals.

The news measures were announced keeping in mind the United Arab Emirates' cooler winter season where citizens and travelers frequently utilize the Christmas time to explore nature, with many outdoor activities such as camping, desert safari, and hiking.

However, under the current Covid guidelines, outdoor activities are allowed, yet with cases rising every day, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center has announced a bunch of careful steps to follow via Twitter, on 11 Dec.

People on outdoor excursions should remember to practice social distancing, keeping a 2-meter distance from others, and abstaining from embracing and handshakes. They must wear a face mask at all times and must avoid going to large gatherings, except for family get-togethers.

However, in case if anybody begins feeling unwell with fever or cough while outdoors, seek clinical advice, and maintain distance with people around you.

Cover mouth and nose with a disposable tissue while coughing or sneezing and make sure that you wash your hands afterward. Citizens are encouraged to wash hands utilizing hand sanitizer or soap and water.

On Saturday, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention detailed 1,154 Covid cases, alongside 613 recoveries. The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee has started working with the concerned officials to resume activities in a week.

The board reaffirmed its duty to proceed with the endeavors made to control the spread of the Coronavirus infection, including the testing programs, contact tracing, and the humanitarian efforts that are helping in maintaining social stability.
