AstraZeneca, the biopharmaceuticals company, has applauded and commended the UAE’s successful strategy of administrating COVID-19 vaccines, and carrying out large-scale vaccination and testing campaigns. 

Qutaiba Al Manasseer, Government Affairs Director, Middle East and Africa at AstraZeneca, that has developed a COVID-19 vaccine collaborating with Oxford University, said that the efforts by nations in Middle East to make vaccines available promptly have been successful. It also noted that region’s health authorities have formulated effective and flexible strategic systems that ensure organized and quick vaccination campaign.

“The UAE ranked among the fastest countries globally in terms of rolling out its vaccination programme, relying on the intensive efforts of its health authorities in administering vaccines and enhancing public confidence in its efficacy,” he added.

Al Manasseer underlined that since beginning of coronavirus pandemic, AstraZeneca has focused on collaborating with scientists, governments, multilateral organizations and manufacturers to lay down agreements for vaccine development and supply.
