Tawam Hospital in the Al Ain city of Abu Dhabi has launched two mobile COVID-19 screening clinics for people showing virus symptoms in a bid to contribute to the fight against the pandemic. The clinics have been stationed at two different locations - one based opposite Al Jimi Malla and the second at the Hili Industrial Zone in Al Ain.
Responding to the development, Tawam Hospital's Executive Director of Operations, Yousef Al Ketbi, asserted that the two clinics have been set up as part of the precautionary measures undertaken by SEHA to control the Coronavirus transmission in the city. Tawam hospital is one of the largest medical facility functioning under SEHA, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company.
Yousef Al Ketbi further stated that both the clinics will remain open for seven days a week for virus testing services. However, while the clinic located opposite Al Jimi Mall will remain open from 12 noon to 7 pm, the second clinic in the Hili Industrial Zone will be operating between 10 am to 5 pm.
The hospital executive went on to explain that the COVID-19 testing would be performed by a team of medical professionals including ten doctors, nurses, and assistants in each clinic.
According to the screening process, the body temperature of the person showing virus symptoms will be measured, virus symptoms will be examined, a medical survey will be carried out, and a swab sample will be taken. The individual will be informed about the test results within 48 hours of the screening.
Earlier this week, the UAE’s health officials announced that more than 2.5 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted across the country since the beginning of the virus transmission. As of June 10, the UAE has reported over 39,000 Coronavirus infected cases across the country, out of whom more than 22,000 patients have recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority NCEMA have extended movement restrictions in Abu Dhabi by a week starting Tuesday. Movement is restricted between Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafrah regions and in and out of the emirate, applying to all residents.
