Ajman Medical District aims to carry out COVID-19 tests of students of public and private schools in the emirate of Ajman. A specialised medical team has been formed to effectively carry out medical examinations of school students.
Hamad Tarim Al Shamsi, Director of Ajman Medical District, stated that the initiative has been launched under the directives of Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and is being followed-up by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. As part of the efforts by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, represented by the Ajman Medical District, and the Ministry of Education, the initiative aims to create an educational environment which is free of Coronavirus such that the students can attend their classes and participate in school activities in the emirate with safety and wellbeing.
Hamad Al Shamsi also asserted that essential medical teams have been set up by the Ajman Medical District to examine the private school students at a specialised hall provided at the Al Bayt Mitwahidcenter. Furthermore, medical and nursing team from the Preventive Medicine Center in Ajman will be supervising and implementing the medical examinations for the school students. At the same time, another team of medical professionals from the Primary Health Care Department will be carrying out Coronavirus examinations of the students of public schools, noting that their tests are being performed in two halls of the Hamid bin Abdulaziz School for Secondary Education and Al Zawraa School for Secondary Education respectively.
Hamad Al Shamsi also said that the examinations will be carried out for both male and female students of 12 years and above, particularly for those who study closeby. He affirmed that the initiative will start on September 9, adding that the examinations will continue throughout the month as of now and can be increased according to the nature and spread of the disease. He also stated that another examination center will be opened in the hall of the Ajman Society for Social and Cultural Development in order to meet needs of students.
In conclusion, the Ajman Medical Director laid emphasis on the need for parents to initial precautionary measures for their children, including regularly measuring their body temperature. He also urged the parents to not to send their children to schools until unless they receive the results of the Coronavirus examinations, which will be directly sent to their phones. Examination lists of all students are being sent to concerned authorities in the education sector in Ajman as well.
