Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company 'ADQ' and agribusiness investment company in the UAE 'E20 Investment' have signed an agreement to establish a new animal health platform in Abu Dhabi. This agreement has emerged as a landmark milestone for the animal healthcare industry in the region.
Initially, the platform will contain a cutting-edge animal vaccine manufacturing facility and a complex with two state-of-the-art animal hospitals.
As soon as the platform is operational, these facilities will expand Abu Dhabi's position as a regional leader in the provision of high-end veterinary services for horses and camels. These facilities will be producing the most technologically advanced animal vaccines for the welfare of animals in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
Speaking about the partnership, Fahad Al Qassim, Executive Director, Healthcare & Life Sciences Portfolio at ADQ, underlined that the group has leveraged its healthcare and life sciences expertise to identify a potential opportunity to develop an effective platform in animal health.
"By creating a joint venture with E20, we will capitalise on Abu Dhabi's strong market potential for animal vaccine production and maintaining the health and welfare of prized animals, such as horses and camels," Al Qassim added.
Furthermore, Sultan Al Jaberi, CEO of E20 Investment Limited, hailed the collaboration with ADQ to bring world-class vaccine technology to the UAE in the animal health sector. Joining hands with relevant partners, the company aims to foster local production of vaccines and provide lucrative markets in the MENA region and beyond, he added.
