Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, recently received the COVID-19 vaccine during his visit to the Khalifa Hospital.
He was visiting the Khalifa Hospital to review the first day of the programme under which frontline workers across all vital sectors are being given the COVID-19 vaccine.
As per a statement of the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office, Sheikh Khaled received the COVID-19 in a bid to support the programme and encourage frontline workers across all sectors to participate in the initiative.
"In support of the programme and to encourage workers in vital sectors to take part, His Highness received the COVID-19 vaccine, affirming the leadership's commitment to support all frontline workers," the statement said.
More than 31,000 volunteers from across 125 nationalities are participating in the vaccine trials undergoing across the UAE. So far, the trials have shown that the vaccine is safe and effective for use.
In the statement, the Abu Dhabi government office also stated that the vaccine is one of the crucial steps that the UAE has taken to contain the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of the community.
