Abu Dhabi launches campaign to spread awareness about COVID among businesses

As the economy is reopening, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) is initiating a campaign called “We All Volunteer.” The department’s senior leadership has undertaken this exercise to spread awareness about abiding safety and precautionary rules to curb COVID-19, among malls, shops, and commercial facilities owners.

As the department kick-started the campaign, top department officials, including Chairman Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa and Undersecretary Rashed Abdul Karim Al Balooshi, were present. Senior members of the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED) and Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) were also present at the event.

According to the Chairman, the initiative is part of the department’s commitment to strengthen voluntary action among its staff to help the community to fight novel coronavirus. In addition to this initiative, the department also issues compliant circulars on precautionary measures to keep the business sector protected.

Al Shorafa reiterated that all businesses and members of the society are responsible for implementing these circulars and resolutions. These circulars conform to practices set by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and relevant government guidelines.

The chairman mentioned that the campaign urges the community to remain committed to safety measures to tide over the ongoing pandemic.

Under the initiative, department personnel can volunteer for inspections, and checks will be carried out in shops and malls at frequent intervals.

The top officials at the launch of the campaign inspected shopping centres in Abu Dhabi and other commercial areas.

The commitment of businesses to adhere to safety and precautionary guidelines will keep businesses safe and ensure the safety of consumers and the broader community.
