Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP), Dubai Economy Sector yesterday had its field inspectors visit many open markets and shopping centres across the emirate to ensure that commercial establishments are following the guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Dubai Economy has thus fined 8 businesses. Out of these seven have been charged for their employees’ lapse in wearing masks and one for not following guidelines for physical distancing.
The violations were seen in various shopping centres, markets and a consumer complex in the Umm Ramool, Al Muraqqabat, and Ayal Nasir areas. They were in sectors of retail, general trade, and electronics trade. CCCP, in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council has also fined a fitness centre.
CCCP’s field inspection teams has also warned 13 commercial establishments for inadequate placing of required physical distancing stickers. Yesterday’s inspections have found that a total of 656 shops and commercial establishments have fully complied with the precautionary measures put in place for Covid-19.
Dubai Economy has urged cooperation and contribution from across the Emirate to keep boosting the economy while pandemic is ongoing through following of precautionary measures. These measures have been imposed to help a safe return to normal economic activities in Dubai to help a reset of economies. It has relayed that action would be taken on account of any non-compliance seen during the CCCP inspections or if reported by public and consumers.
