2 businesses fined by Dubai Economy for violating Covid-19 guidelines

Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP), Sector in Dubai Economy had its field inspectors visit a number of open markets and shopping centres across the emirate on Wednesday to ensure that all commercial establishments are following the precautionary measures placed against COVID-19.

The tours on Wednesday led to two commercial establishments getign fined by Dubai Economy due to employees’ non-commitment to wearing masks. The violations were noted in establishments in Al Muraqqabat and Riggat Al Buteen areas. Their area of activities included building materials trade, and commercial brokerage. Overall, it was found through inspections that 748 shops and commercial establishments were completely complying with the Covid-19 precautionary measures.

Dubai Economy reminded that top priority is the public health. It said that strict action would be taken against establishments not showing compliance with the precautionary measures during inspections or if reported by consumers and public. Dubai Economy has urged the public to cooperate and contribute to boost the emirate’s economy in spite of the pandemic threat. The precautionary measures have led to gradual return to normalcy and safe economic activities in Dubai.
