18 new DPI laser scanning stations installed in Abu Dhabi

18 DPI laser scanning drive through stations to be set up in Abu Dhabi announced the Abu Dhabi Crisis and Disasters Committee on Saturday. These stations are being set up on Al Faya Road before Ghantoot.

Another addition towards accessibility came as the committee approved plans to open new lanes at the entry points between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which is aimed at enhancing the flow of entry into the emirate without having to worry about the traffic.

To ease entry into the capital emirate these 18 DPI stations have been set up which will be operating 24- hours and will be available on the both sides of the road, in Seih Sheib ara. These new stations are coming in addition to the network of testing centers in Abu Dhabi.

Even though Abu Dhabi is easing restrictions, the emirate is making sure that Covid-19 testing units are being set up and the necessary precautions are being taken. Only a few days ago, the emirate’s media office announced, “All international travellers will be required to present a negative PCR test result received within 96 hours of their scheduled departure and take a second PCR test upon entering the emirate.”

The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee released a seven point guideline that added that the capacity of testing centres will be increased. It also said that all travellers who will be coming from ‘green’ countries will be exempted from quarantine obligations and the others will have to be quarantined for 10 days.

“All travellers will need to undertake a PCR test on day six if they are staying six or more consecutive days, as well as on day 12 if they are staying 12 or more consecutive days. Country classifications will be reviewed fortnightly,” said a statement released by the authorities before Christmas.
